Default RE: Alarm question

I have just purchased a 08 Ultra and it came with a HD alarm System. I saved my Security System Smart Siren II from my 06 Road King, and installed it into my 08 Ultra. When you walk up (with the key fob in hand) it chirps, and it starts and runs, when you turn it off the siren chirps when it stes the alarm. If I leave the fob in the house and the MC unlocked, and walk out to intentionally set off the alarm the lights flash and kills the ignition but no alarm. What is wrong?

I too am having the same problem. I had a 2005 Ultra Classic and installed the smart siren 2 and programed the pager and it worked fine. I traded the 05 in but before I did I took the smart siren 2 off the 2005 because according to the 2008 parts catalog it uses the same smart siren 2. I installed the smart siren 2 on the 2008 Ultra classic and it only chirps and when I disturb the bike the lights only flash and it worn't start. SOMEONE somewhere knows how to fix this and I think it is going to involve changing something within the ECM and or TSSM but I refuse to pay the dealer. I will order a 2008 Electrical manula to find out how to fix the problem and will update everyone as soon as I find out.

Having just done what you did about a month ago I can shed some light on this. You can "marry" the TSSM to the ECM yourself. The procedure for thisis in HDForums. If I remember correctly it takes about 30 minutes. The part you can't do yourself is assign the key fob to the alarm system this must be done by HD. The pager you can alsosetup yourself.
I had lost both key fobs for my Deuce.....went to the dealer bought a new one. Went home opened my 03' Softail factory service manual to the alarm section. Found the section dealing with assigning the fob to the bike, and 15 min later everything was working just like brand new.

What I am saying is.....YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE DEALER TO ASSIGN THE FOB (for a 03' softail)TO THE BIKES ALARM SYSTEM.
