Default Have You Skidded or Tumbled after falling off

I have been totally frustrated in my cycle wear research. Read tons of stuff and it just gets more and more confusing. I'll try to limit this to pants. In the winter and/or cool weather I wear leather pants over levi's. But a good part of the year it is just too warm here for that much clothing. I've read a bunch about how jeans are zero protection and mesh pants aren't much better. Several companies like Draggin Jeans sell reinforced jeans. I'm thinking this may be the way to go, but not sure I believe all the stuff they put on their sites.

Question: Could anyone who has actually had to test (crashed, skidded or flipped) the reliability of these reinforced jeans comment on how things turned out and if you still trust them?

Curious too? Actually I hope no one can, for their sake, but we will see.

Just went through the skid & tumble but I was wearing regular jeans. They didn't fare well.

I can tell you, at least in my experience, that at 50mph, first you skid, then you tumble. Fairly new Wranglers held up amazingly well, tore the pocket off that had my wallet in it.

never been down but I wear kevlar-lined jeans. Most of them have pockets for knee/shin armor. I only put the armor in if I'm going to be on the highway for a while, but the armor has saved my knees and shins several times from junk getting kicked up by vehicles in front of me.

The only hole I received was on my right knee along with a raspberry but I was only going about 25-30.

I tumbled after my wreck. I had on Fox Creek chaps over Levis (the heavy ones, not the POS thin ones you get at Kohls). My kneecap shattered from the initial impact, and the denim burned my skin from the abrasion. It's my opinion that armored riding pants are worth the cost.

Not me, but close friend I was riding with did. Not sure what company his were, but they seemed to hold up "ok" . By that I mean they didn't tear and melt into his skin like regular jeans might, so that was good. That being said we both wear either leather or Ballistic nylon/kevlar reinforced cargos now. A lot probably depend on just how fast you "test" the jeans at too. We were going about 45-ish at the time so they did hold up pretty well all things considered.
