New to me 2010 Road King
I recently purchased a 2010 Road King standard with about 12K miles. This is my first Harley ever and first bike in many years. So far I am loving it. I have had it since the end of May and put over 2000 miles on it. The only issues I have had have been self induced. Left the ignition switch on and ran down the battery once and spent some time trying to figure out would start one morning onlt to relize I didnt have the security fob in my pocket.
I have a couple of questions. What kind of mileage can I expect to get out of the tires and brake pads? I have pretty much decided that I need a seat upgrade. Should I give the stock seat more time for my posterior to adjust? I am able to stay in the saddle for up to two hours now. I tend to slide forward some causing my pants to put the squeeze on the crotch area and sometimes feel like the area that makes contact with the back of the seat is getting pinched.
Enjoying the ride in VA!

VA-RK congrats on the new ride. It may take some seat time to get comfortable, espcially in the heat here, 100 + for the weekend. Under Armor compression shorts help. You should get at least 10K on your rear and 20K on front. Brakes really depend on your riding style. Lots of great info here. Try searching for info as there are threads on almost everything......

Congrats on your new bike. Most Harley dealers have different kinds of seats they will let you put on your bike and take a test ride. Everyone is not built the same and one seat does not fit everyone. I removed the OEM seat off my Ultra and put on a Hammock seat. It made a big difference in comfort.
Ride safe and have fun!

Congrats on the new ride. I've always gone to Corbin right off to satisfy my seat needs. Lots of options out there. But I've got a ton of miles on Corbin seats, and couldn't be more pleased. Seven in all, and at least 250,000 miles. They're firm, provide support, and once broken in just seem to be right for me. To each his own. You've just got to go with what works for YOU. Tires = 10-12K Rear and 14-15K Front about average for me. Dunlop Elite 3's for the last 4 sets, but I've been through most all brands. These just work, last, and handle well with my setup. Brakes, that's just an individual thing. My brakes probably go 2-3 times further than many urban riders cause most all of my riding is out on the wide open roads. Good luck.

Sundowner would be better but there a pretty bulky seat. A solo with passenger pillion is a nice option to consider and looks great on a king. Check out C&c, Mustang, Corbin and have a look at some bikes at the dealers, especially out in the parking lot, see what others are using.
