Default SE Tuner or PC V

Just wondering what other people have used. I recently bought a used 2011 Street Glide with 103 motor, SE a/c and Vance & Hines slip ons. The bike currently has a PC on it but have been told by several shops in the area I would be better off with the SE Tuner. I am getting ready to buy a different head pipe to get rid of the converter. I'm looking for more long term reliability than performance and as said just wondering what others have used. Thanks

IMO stick with the PC. Just out of curiosity what shops were telling you to go with SE Tuner? Did they happen to be Dealers or were they indy's?

The prices dealers charge to tune in a bike are outrageous. But if they are indys, they must not like to tune with the PC so you may have to go the other way.

PC-V for me, but that is what my tuner uses.
If you plan on getting cams, then get your bike dyno-ed.
If not then get a map for your configuration;
A/C, pipes, etc.
Probably many on here have the map(s) that you need and would send them to you.

I'm looking at buying the TTS Mastertune. I have actually had several dealers tell me not to buy the SERT as they have been having problems with it, but to go with the TTS. Apparently the makers of the TTS use to make the SERT but HD decided to go with a lower bidder. How true all this is, who knows, but I've heard nothing but positive feedback about the Mastertune, so that's the way I'm going to go. Take a look at it.

You will get a lot of different opinions, most will think they are experts.

I would use whatever your tuner recommends. He knows how to use it and is confidant with it.
Any problems will be on him and he won't blame the tuner.

They want to sell you the SE so they can suck you in for endless hours of charges for a dyno each and every time you add mods, and will tell you anything else will void any warranty, if you have one. BS. PCV with AT and never look back. SE is married to your bike - one and done. PCV / AT goes with you.

I thought about going TTS, no one in my area tunes them, the closest is an hour or more away, and they v tune and no dyno.
SE Pro race tuner has been working for me, no issues. Initially a v tune was done buy HD dealer at 1K, I had it on a dyno last week, the tuner did some fine tuning, runs better now.

The power vision that Fuelmoto carries seems to be. Good product, give them a call ask questions.

Just my 02 cents

I tend to go with a fuel manager that I can personally get into to adjust as I see fit, then If I'm having difficulty go to a tuner. But then, I don't like being dependent on anyone and prefer to use them as a refferance.

Default Tuners

Thanks for all the info. The shops in the area were dealers that suggested the SE Tuner, one shop that has been around here for many years recommended keeping the PC V I have and I think thats what I'm going to do.Think I'm going to just enjoy the bike and when I can change out the head pipe. Thanks again all for the info.

Before you go.....take the time to get to know your Fuel Manager, so the next time you have a question or may need an adjustment, you may want to hook your laptop to it and give it a go yourself? Plenty of people on here who do, why not?
