Lost mine in similar circumstances. On my way from Huntsville to Destin my heel shifter fell off. Going through Montgomery, at some point I was for forced to downshift out of 6th gear. When I went to shift back up, I was kicking air. I was feeling around with my boot at first thinking that I just missing it each time. I looked down and saw that it was indeed gone. The last time I remember touching it was as I was going through Bham. Bike was still under warranty. Heritage HD replaced it free of charge and it has stayed on to this day.
