By the time you get them to replace it, only to have it sit in a drawer somewhere forever, you will wonder why you wasted the time in the first place.

I took mine off and never looked back. Is it worth anything?

I removed one of mine, the other one removed itself on the highway. If you want another one, talk to your dealer. It's weird that it fell off on a new bike.

Reminds me of the day I bought my 2006 Dyna. Dealer is 20 miles away. Rode the bike home and then took it around a big local park to show it off a bit. Went to shift and the peg was gone. Took another slower ride around the park and found it in the road. Took it back to the dealer the next day. They apologized and put some loctite on it.

Like others here, before I even rode my SG home, I removed the heel shifter and put on a cover that HD sells. I have 3 of the darned things in a box somewhere in the garage.

Try posting in the WTB section, looks like you can get one cheap from someone that took it off. Personally, I miss the heel shifter that I had on my RKC.

1st mod I made to my bike was to take the heel shifter off.
Didn't like my heel sliding into it or bumping it all the time.
Kind of a PIA.

Took mine off the day I got it. But I did keep it, if I ever decide to sell the bike I'll put it back on just in case the next owner wants one..

I lost mine on a trip to the beach last fall.I got off a exit at fancy gap to find a place to stay for the night, and there was no shifter when I went to down shift.I was going to replace it ,but I now like the more room on the floor boards.I didn't know there was a cover for it.I will have to get 1.My bike at the time, had less than 6000,miles on it.

I have had a heel shifter on every bike I have owned.... I use it exclusively to up-shift... I am lost / shift like a noob on a bike without one...
