Default first ride with PCV and LRS shield on RKC

Yesterday I installed a 21 inch LRS medium tint windshield and a Power Commander V tuner, custom mapped by Jamie at Fuel Moto on my 2006 RKC. I made my first ride today. First, I am very pleased with how my bike is now running. 95 inch Stage II tune, etc and it has never run this smooth or strong, from start up to WOT running up through the gears. It will be interesting to see how fuel mileage changes. I also am impressed with my new LRS shield. I like the tint, although I think it will take some time to get used to it visually while riding. It does what it says and pushes the air up over my head with a lot less buffeting. But, today in MS it is 92+ degrees and with my fork baffles installed, I was getting cooked with heat from the air coming around the engine and sucked up by my arms and sides. I was experiencing this from about 45 mph to 75 mph. When I got home I took the fork baffles off and will see if that makes a difference with my next ride. It has to be caused by the negative pressure behind the windshield and the higher air flow over my head.

Has anyone experienced this with their LRS shield? Also, it may be just me, but there is definitely more wind resistance compared to my stock shield. I expected this and it does not bother me. Just curious.

I just started running my LRS and I love it. Dont really notice anymore or less heat from this shield over stock. So maybe your baffles are the difference.

What do you mean by wind resistance? Does it seem to cut through the wind better or do you mean more drag?

You probably notice more drag due to the design of the shield actually moving more air away from you as opposed to the stock shields which in my opinion don't do much at all or shieldless.
: ) Hope that helps answer your question. Glad to hear you are enjoying your shield! Keep us updated on how you like it as you use it. : )

Wind resistance, don't know if it's more or less but my gas mileage seemed to go up since installing the LRS windshield (last 2000 miles) and it makes for a better/quieter ride. Prior to the LRS I had a cut down stock shield, now 19" LRS shield.

much quieter. absolutely still behind the shield. slip stream is much higher too with same 21 inches as stock. I guess just a different feel. but not a bad thing. Hopefully will get to ride some this weekend without the fork baffles to see if air flow around engine goes past my legs and not up my arms and body...

Finally got to get out and ride some this past weekend and this time without the fork baffles. Temps still in the mid to high 90s, but there was a big difference. The LRS shield did its job and the air flow around me and my legs was like it should be. The combo with the fork baffles should be great in cold weather though.

19" LRS here, with no issues. Love it!

I do have to say that the tinted screen shows bug smears much more, but it looks SO much nicer!
