Double Jack,

Congrats on that ride. I think they are very sharp bikes, like I said above...let's see some pics! Better get a wide angle lense for your smile!

I am picking up my Street Glide on Friday in Black Cherry. I have never owned a Harley. I would appreciate any advice on whether to purchase the extended warranty or not.

IMHO, keep your money.

Unless you're going to some crazy riding, 75K or more a year...screw it...you can do a LOT of repairs for that money. If you service it yourself, you'll save even more. Spend $50 on the manual and ride it.

What are the major differences between the SG and the EG standard? I'm thinking I like the SG but don't know enough about either one of them.

The major differences are...

No Light Bar.
Lower Batwing Fairing.
Rear Fender has low profile lic. plate bracket with bullet signals and frenched in running lights at the bottom of the fender.
Its sits lower.
No saddlebag guards.

-Radio
-Cool Rear fender
-Low license plate mount (under the tail light)
-Bullet style turn signals
-RK Custom style floorboards and brake pad
-Black and CHROME engine
-Color matched saddlebag latches
-Chrome dash plate (Similar to CVO models)
-Clean front fender
-Slotted cast wheels with black accents
-Lowered suspension
-Standard with all instrument gauges
-Chrome trim rings on all instrument gauges
-White faced gauges (I think they look sweet)
-Fairing mounted mirrors
-Low smoked windshield

I like the looks of the bike. Don't care for the looks of just a single headlight. I like the looks better with the passing lights too.

My $.02

You know I thought the same about the driving lights, but since I have got my street glide I seem to like the clean look without them. It is a very nice handling bike and seems to get alot of attention where ever it goes. I have a chopped tour pack on order for it now with quick detach docking kit, I am also adding the black fork slidders and covers, the stereo is awsome. will try and get some pic's to post real soon.
