I have one. Used it a few times. Tried all sorts of air setting. Then bough beads for the seat. Beads worked so much better for me. TO each their own

To get back to the question...

As previously stated, the difference is the materials. The original AirHawk is more durable, and thus has the longer warranty.

Your best bet is to call or email the Airhawk people and ask them. Plus, their web site clearly compares the two. After speaking with them, I went with the original.

And adjusted correctly (as little air as possible as already noted above), it is like riding on air. Hmmm. I have used the beads (beadrider) for three years, the Airhawk is 10x more comfortable. The beads can't be beat for heat, but for tush comfort, you cannot beat the Airhawk.
