need advice on new road glide ultra
Just back from a 4200 mile hog tour and thinking of replacing the road kung with a full road glide ultra. Figure I have a dyna for sporting around so why not upgrade to a full bagger. Test rode the ultra limited and the rg ultra for 50 miles and like the rg more.
So the simple question. Wait for the 2013 models or just go for a 2012. Like the blue pearl. Check w a couple dealers on the road none figure any changes on a 2013. Maybe a CVO, but I don't what one. Figure It's a rider not a show bike. I have my FXDX for that.
Thoughts?

If you want it NOW and they will deal, then the 2012...........if you wait, the leftover 2012 may be cheaper. But if you really want NEW and you feel that 13 is a lucky number......I guess the bottom line is that its your money, so cut the best deal and be happy. Show us the pics when you get it!!!

Well the price is always an issue. Working the deal now. Was in Las Vegas and there deals were pretty good, but have to fly down to get it or pay shipping. Still the price is only $500 less than local. Not worth it.
Locally my dealer has one. ell at list w/o any assembly etc just freight, so 23.4K out the door. Trade in low of course. 2009 road king in excellent shape for only 10.7K. Looked up KBB value which has a 10.6 to 14.6K spread. Figure if I consign the RK and get 14K that is only about 11.8K to me. Bottom-line, I think the deal is about $1000 too high. Not in hurry so maybe wait until 2012 are lasts year model and weather is bad.
Maybe just offer $1000 less now and see what happens. They already will give 20% all harley parts I add and 10% on non harley which is good cause I will add many parts to ake the bike fit - bars, seat, pipes etc.
Know only I can decide, but peoples thoughts are always a data point to think the situation is right.

If your local dealer only has one, he's not gonna deal on it. I got a steal of a deal in July '11 on my '11 RGU but the '12s were on the way and the dealer I bought from had no less than 8 RGUs in stock. They were motivated to get rid of them...
Find another dealer that has more Ultras sitting in the showroom. Now is a good time to buy as they want to have room for the '13s on the floor and don't want a lot of '12s sitting around.
