Tough to learn lessons sometimes but it sounds like it all worked out for you in the end. I also learned the salvage title lesson on a used car I bought. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt either.

Enjoy your bike!

Wow that sucks big time. Sorry to hear you got boned. This is one reason I always ask for a photo or scan of the title before I even consider doing a deal on a bike, or if it's a local deal I ask to see it and I take a photo of it. Also check to make sure the title is in fact in the name of the person that's selling the bike, there are way too many bozos out there that never transfer it into their name because they don't want to pay the taxes on it. But if they do that and there are any title problems it's the new owner that's screwed because they have to try and track down the former owner to get it straightened out. That is one road that is to be avoided at all cost.

A 2010 UC with 10,000 miles for $12,155? Hell yeah, something was up with that bike!

I'm glad it all worked out, but you had to have known for that bike and low miles something was wrong with it or it was stolen or something....

Either way, congrats on the new scoot.
