I guess it takes about 4 squirrels sown together to make a neat, padded tank support, for you next wrenching session.

Welcome to the Club of Many Dumbasses"!!!

I've done so many dumb things (just in the garage) lately that I should be President of this club.
Last Monday, I was tinkering on my Ultra, changing all of the fluids, spark plugs and looking for a sqeak that was driving my crazy when a chipmunk ran into the garage.
I stood up (forgetting that my car lift was not in the highest position) and banged the #$&% out of my head!
Ya ever heard a chipmunk laugh?

Parts can be replaced and repainted.......go forward and sin no more.

Oh, the squeak, it was the (loose) upper bolt on my left saddle bag guard.

Nice to know others do that kind of stuff too. When I decide what I'm gonna do I usually factor in a thing or two to decide what my time and aggravation costs. When I'm retired thats a different story but right now my time counts.

Got the cable run finally and the huge plug stuffed and all is good.
Love the interface! Cable was long enough I went into the tour pack with it. Put a strip of velcro an old cell phone case and stuck it to the tour pack liner. 200 miles last night on some rough *** roads and it didn't move.

I may go back and rework part of the radio installation to get rid of that HUGE male to male adapter. I stuck it under the radio but don't really like the way it fits.

Worst part of all of this is I damn well knew better! Hell, as a sideline I do work on other people's bikes and would have never done this with one of their's! I have a large carpeted table about 20' away from my work area specifically for this purpose. That's what I get for getting in a hurry!

Now for the paint, I'm thinking black base coat with gold or silver marbling, topped with HOK Kandy Apple Brandywine and clear.

Something similiar to the photo. Accent stipes of some kind under the clear.

That would be an awesome color for sure.

Sorry for your temporary loss (of paint). However... you have provided me with a way to get my new paint job earlier. I have to re-do my handlebars to put cruise on. My bars may "accidentally far backward" and hit my tank or some other unforeseen tank related mishap may occur during this "maintenance" resulting in sweeeeeet paint for Joe.
