I love my fairing lowers and never take them off. The main change in the fairing lowers was when they redesigned them a couple of years ago and added the vents. I'm not sure what years fit what anymore (mine are on a 2000 roadglide and there is a big difference between roadglide lowers and batwing lowers).

You need to get over to the New Members Forum and say howdy to everyone here on the board.

Take Care
Terry

Hey Bill

Welcome! The big diff is that upto and including 2004, HD used the non-vented style lowers. In 05-07, they are using the new style lowers with large vents that can help pass alot of air through to cool everything on hot days

Hope this helps--PEZ

I have the new vented lowers on my 2007 Street Glide. Other than the obvious vented portion, it seems that the older lowers had a little "lip" toward the side of the top portion that deflected a bit more air up and off the riders knee area. I amy be wrong but it seems that I remember that part. Also, the new lowers have a more substantial "cut-out" on the outside part that allows you to position highway pegs a little closer in.

He's right....

I leave mine on year round as well.. no vents but I have a bud that has the vents and he said he does not notice any air flow with them
