Default Rear Crash Bars on a 2008 FLHX

Anyone remove and ride without your rear crash bars??
Will the "bags" still hold on tight without the extra crash bar support???
I have a new girl that's pretty short and her legs bruise on the rear bars...
I've ordered the "comfort profile rear saddlebag guard kit" but in won't be here before this weekend run...
I'm also going to raise her fllorboards up two inches....

Thanks.....

if you remove your rear crash bars, you need to replace the saddlebag mounts with the mounts from a bike that did not come factory with the rear crash bars.

go to your local HD dealer and tell them what you intend to do and they will order you what you need.

HD sells these to support the bags without the crash bar ($140). So, the crash bar is not needed to support the bags.

I believe the pic Smokindave shows is for an 09 and up model, the mount for your 08 would be different.,46565-04.
