I guess I'm confused as to why this bothers OP so much. How does someone paying someone else to work on their bike affect HIS life??

OP, grow the hell up, quit being so petty, live your own life and stop letting things that don't concern, concern you.

un-freakin-believable...

I would love to do all the scheduled maintenance on my bike. My only concern is how does that effect the factory warranty and extended warranty with no documentation of service.

Document it by saving your receipts.

Relax...I think the OP is just trying to give some people a little encouragement to try and take on some work themselves. There is nothing wrong with words of encouragement.

take a hike dude...it is absolutely no business of yours who, how, or when my bike gets serviced. i have no intention of doing anything to my bike other than putting gas in it.

any time i feel like working on something, i go to the driving range and work on my long irons.

prolly cause every other thread in here starts off with the stealer is charging me this for that, or what should I pay for a stealer to do this, or my stealer effed me in the b and now I gotta do this, or I took my bike to the stealer cause it was burning my little ***** now it pulls to the right how can I sue.
I really don't give a damn how much another man spends to have his oil changed, but it's all you read about in here. I really have to look hard for new ''good info''.

I get it, obviously you don't

I do most of my work myself, but that is because I can't afford to have anyone else do it, after nearly 40 years of riding and wrenching I would love to pay someone to do the wrenching part now! The reality is, with the newer bikes today, unless you have a fully equipped diagnostics bay and all the specialized tools and instuments ( lotsa green $ ) not too many folks' doing ALL their own work. I do think you learn your bike better and are able to spot needed repairs much sooner if you do your own maintenance regularly. But if an ECM or sensors leave you at the side of the road, not musch any of us can do without a cell phone and credit card. Thankfully, that's pretty rare despite what we read. Do as much as you possibly can and ride till you a$$ hurts!

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone is different, and does what they want.
I got the ability to do do the engine oil change, heck I use the scavenger method for that because I really like to get all that dirty oil out. I could go buy a service manual too, most likely I will, I have not changed the transmission oil or other oil but I think I could do that.

I do have a VERY GOOD indy that has a great rep, and for those things that I can't do, I have him do. His labor is is $60.00 an hour which is $30.00 less than the dealership. He did the 103 build on my 07 FLSTF, I wish he had a dyno though.

Yeah, the service manual sounds like a good idea. And I appreciate the info of DIY folks here and vendors such as Fuelmoto. The 107 build that FM has on youtube is great.
Not sure if I could lauch into that myself, but I think it would be a great project.

Cheers to all. Ride safe, and enjoy the ride.
