I have searched around about installing the PBR300X2 and saw some brackets used but I also saw people velcro them to the top of the HU.
1 Velcro or Bracket?
2 Has anyone had trouble with heat from the amp on top of the HU?
3 Can anyone recomend a bracket to buy or are you making your own.

I've used both, I used velcro for 7 years with no problems, I recently went with brackets because I installed a second amp. I made my own bracket, but I've heard Yaffe is now selling the brackets, I believe they are around $30 each.

 

I have the 300x4 and i velcro'd it, and i then secured it with nylon wire ties to the top of the head unit... Its secure, and theres no heat issues.

 

On top of the radio in the four corners where the amp sits I used some of those round felt things you put on the legs of chairs so the chairs won't scratch the floor (about 3/16" thick), then I put velcro on top of those. Now the amp is velcroed in but has a little space to breath.
