Default What do I lose swapping out HK head unit?

I am picking my new Street Glide up this weekend. After stage 1, the next on my list is upgrading the sound. Definitely getting an amp and some speakers. I am debating on swapping out the head unit for the Sony DSX-MS60 with the ipod tray along with the harness to maintain the handlebar controls. I figure I would spend around $300 to get the ipod interface if I stick with the stock head unit so the cost balances out. I may even come out ahead after selling the HK head unit. My question is what do I lose if I do the swap? The weather bands? Anything else I'm missing? Thanks.

Thanks guys....looking at the biketronics kit so I would not lose the AVC. Also looking at adding Sirius which has some weather channels but they are not that great. I'm not familiar with the weather bands so I'm not sure what I would be missing.

All the troubles that the HD radio will give you down the road. One of the best mods I did...was to change my HD radio for a Sony.

If my radio ever gives me any trouble, I will send it in to Iron Cross And I should anyway to get the back-light color changed. Oh ya, my birthday is coming up

I'll go with the Sony if my HK ever screws up, but I need that AVC. IMO it is the best feature of the stock setup, I won't go aftermarket without it.

His Street Glide doesn't have CB or intercom. He's missing a little bit of downtime, and expensive repair bill if he keeps it !!

The Biketronics install kit allows you to keep AVC.

There are lots of radios with weather band (if ya can't look up) and about any feature ya may want, that will work with a biketronics unit. Ya don't have to get a Sony.
