Have a leak-down test done to see how much air can get past the rings. I've seen this problem on bikes and seen bikes fixed of this problem. A leak down test showed they were on the high end of acceptable tolerance. Because of the pressure in the combustion chamber, some air is forced past the rings, as the pressure builds in the crankcase it must exhaust thru the breather. The more air forced past the rings, the more must exhaust thus bringing more oil vapor with it. Before someone asks, "wouldn't worn rings result in burning oil?" Answer: eventually yes but air, under pressure, requires less of a "gap" to pass by the rings than oil does. Seems HD is more lenient in their tolerances these days. my 99, with SE AC, started at 55,000 miles dripping oil. My 08, has not started yet at 32,000 miles.

I just got these breather tubes from Vance & Hines. They are from their VO2 A/C series. The Fuel Moto Billet A/C uses the stock breather tubes. Though I had no problems, I wanted to make sure I got no oil drips on the A/C filter. Best part was V&H gave them to me for free. Must have caught the sales guy on a good day. The part #s, if your interested are: A163HW Front Breather Hose / A164HW Rear Breather Hose.

I'm getting a small amount from the small holes spaced about 3/4" apart on my SS Stealth (towards the top). Holes are too close together and putting copper tubing is not as easy as the examples from forum members. Small drips roll down into the TB with some making it's way out the bottom to run down to bottom edge of filter, indicating it's happening during shutdown.

Seems to me that anyone having this oil drip problem would consider it a no brainer to switch to a V&H A/C based on the way the tubes turn nicely into T/B.

From my experience with the K&N Kit on my 2008 Ultra Classic, after a time the K&N air filter, which seals the top of the oil vent chanbers, shrinks due to heat. This allows the oil to drip out of air dome cover. I repaced my with a S.E. Air Kit from H.D. and it has never leaked since. The S.E. Filter kit has a better design and prevents the problem.
