Be sure to check out Vindikta for bars as well. These are 14" Meathooks. I'm 5'7 and the put my hands just below my shoulders
MSgt1371, how is the reach for you? Could you pull the bars back if you wanted to? I'm 5'7" also and feel like I'm leaning forward too much on the stock bars. I'd like some height on the bars but also some pullback. I like to lean back a bit when I ride. Not sure if the apes will allow me to do that. You have a sweet bike. What seat do you have?
I have the 13" Cycle Smith Chubby apes and I am only 5'8... They are really comfortable for me, at first I didn't think they would be but turns out I love them!

I just saw this, sorry for the late reply. I was having the same issues you were with the leaning forward. These bars allow me to sit straight up. The seat a Danny Gray/Arlen Ness solo. It was on the bike already when I picked it up.
10 inch black wild one chubbies brought me up an inch and back two. I wish I would have gone with the 12.5's but I REALLY wanted to stay behind the fairing because I ride a lot during the winter.

Do you have a model #? Were these the wo575 or the wo578?
What is the most comfortable height? I've heard 10 or 12?
What are popular brands? Thanks
12in Yaffe bars are very popular for the Street Glide. That's what i installed on my 09 SG. The 12 in bars are usually a good fit for anyone of average height. With the cost of the bars, wires, cables, etc., i paid around $550. I did the install myself which is not an easy job. You can figure another $500 [at least] if you have someone else do the install.
