SG shocks on my RKC
Just picked up a 2008 RKC. I have been reading on the forum here that I can swap out to street glide shocks to gain a 1" lower stance. Is this a simple swap of the shocks only or is there more involved? Can I do this in my garage by myself? Has anybody done it and regretted it? Thanks for any help.

Removing 4 bolts and a jack are all that it takes to swap, probably 15 minutes time.
There are always a lot of take off, almost new HD Air shocks for sale on E Bay. If you buy a set of used shocks contact the seller and be sure that they were stored correctly so the oil did not leak out or you will be changing that out as well. A lot of us have swapped out the stock oil to try to improve the ride of the stock shocks anyway.
Has anyone regretted it?-I would say that a lot of riders dont like the 12" lowered HD Air shocks, due to there function, 2" of travel creates a rougher ride. Thats why there are so many for sale used. There are also a lot of riders and threads out there about changing up from a 12" shock to a 13" shock.
If it were me Id wait until I could get a better quality set of shocks in 12" if I wanted to lower the bike. Ohlins, Works, Terrycable or Progressive, spend a little more and not only lower it but improve the handling and ride.
