Talking Outstanding day of riding Saturday

A coworker and I got sent out to Charleston for work related training. We had the weekend to ourselves so we rented some bikes in Robinsville, NC and spent the day riding some really awesome roads. We started out on the Dragon and did the loop on the Cherohala Skyway. We ate lunch in Robinsville and then set out to ride some of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Rode back on part of the Smokey Mountain expressway then rode part of the Moonshiner 28 back to Deals Gap. Rode the Dragon out to the Harley store and then rode it back to watch the 50cc bike races at Deals Gap. We did a little over 330 miles of riding. These are some of the most challenging roads I've ever ridden. Being from South Texas (coastal area) I thought the Three Sisters and some of the Hill Country was neat and challenging. There is absolutely NO COMPAIRISON!!! We really lucked out weather wise, as it rained today. If you EVER get the opportunity to ride these beautiful, scenic roads do it. The only two things that could have made it better would have been to have my wife (and her bike) and my own bike. I have to give props to Greg at SportBikes4hire.com, he set us up with some nice bikes for the day.

Again, if you get the chance, ride this area you'll absolutely love it.

There is no bad riding anywhere in that area. What kind of bikes did you guys rent?

I rented a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and my coworker rented a Kawasaki Concourse 14. I would have liked to have ridden a Harley as that is what I'm more comfortable on, but the Vulcan really performed well.

You're 100% correct on the no bad riding and people seemed to be very respectful, both cagers and bikers. No one riding your butt trying to get you out of your comfort zone.
