I changed my windshield tonight on my new RG and quickly realized the well nut system is junk!

 

Ok why is it junk works very well easy to remove windshield and reinstall.
thing most do wrong with them is over tighten them

 

I use the CB wellnuts and they are better than the stock ones, the shoulders are thicker and they won't push thru the fairing. I agree the most common mistakes made are over tightening and not pushing them up against the fairing before tightening them so the wellnut is not seated against the fairing

 

I have swapped windshields 3x, havent really had any problems it just doesnt seem like a very good design for purpose of holding a windshield on.

 

I've used them and they are much better than stock
