ride-on tire sealant and balance stuff
from a previous inquiry about what is needed for an Electrical/Mechanical Survival Kit, the Ride-on tire sealant product was recommended: http://www.ride-on.com/prod_mot.asp After reading a gazillion testimonials the stuff seems great. just did a search for flats and/or the Ride-on product and didn't turn up much information.
1. from the site they boast the stuff is non-corrosive, and hosesout with water. can't help but wonder what the dealer or who ever services the tire feels or thinks about finding that stuff in there and finding a place to hose this stuff out of the tire. anybody have any first hand experience breaking down a tire with this stuff in it?
2. the product literature and testimonials talk about how it fine balances the tire and how when you have a flat, you pull the nail and roll forward so the hole is at the bottom where the stuff can seal the hole. how does this stuff stay in place (keep the tire in balance), if it settles to the bottom to seala leak? seems like the tire would become out of balance after any extended stationary period.......
oh great and knowledgeable touringriders, your thoughtful input and experiences are hereby solicited.
