Default Heat shields 07 Ultra?

Does anyone have experience with either Kurykan (sp) saddle shields or RJ Originals cool thighs etc. Are they effective in diverting the heat from your legs? How much of a difference does it make? The heat has to go somewhere so are there any issues with the heat damming up and causing heat damage or an overheat condition? I think the leather looks better than the clear shields. She runs pretty hot I'm thinking that this might get me through the winter until I can spring for pipes, AC, and Sert.
Thanks in advance,

It's RJ that makes the 'no more fried thighs'.

RJ'sare the leather ones I mentioned. They look more like they belong on the bike than the clear ones do.

To me, they are a great blend into the materials, shapes of the Ultra.

Big Sled, was the difference significant when you installed the RJ's?

Yes!, and protecting from the heat was the driver for getting them. Got them when it was still hot (weather) and the protection helped the radiation of heat to the legs and protects against swinging a leg/pants against the pipes.

In addition to the velcro quick on and off mounting method, I followed their advice and used a wire tie on each through the grommet for that purpose to keep them from walking away.

Spend that money on a PCIII and air cleaner and it will run better and 60 Degrees cooler, why not address the heat issue than try and use a widget to cover it up?

I have used the Kuryakn chrome shields since July and they really made a difference on my 07 Ultra.. They blend in nice and I don't even notice them now.
