Anyone know where 2005 Harley Davidson Service / Repair manuals can be purchased ? The latest I have found is 2003 by Clymer.

Thanks

Buy the HD one...it's only a few dollars more than the other and supieror across the board. I had to take mine all apart, put whole punches in it and put it in a binder I've used it so much.

Good advice given here. The HD one is much better than the others

Okay..

Hey I searched this time LOL (I"m learning...slowly)

I have looked at the part number for my Police Ed. FLHTPI 2004

one other question.. the date on the bike vin is 10/03 but its called an 04? or should I get the 03 manual?

99483-04A is shown at the HD site, $ 58.00

do you know if I need the supplement also? is this just police stuff.. blue light special ? all of the police ed stuff other then the handle bar aux lights.. is off the bike. but I assume the wiring harness is the same.

99483-04SP $ 40.00

It's an '04...check your registration...the '06's are being sold now...so they were built in 06/05...June of 05 but they are the '06 model.

Don't confuse the "born on date" with the model of the bike.

Make sense?

The 10/03 is the production date, it is an 04 bike and you should get the 04 manual like Mac says

The 10th character of the V.I.N. is the model year. I also recommend that you get the HD manual - expensive but you'll easily get you money back by not paying the HD dealer's high labor rates.

i agree, get the HD manual. i always buy repair manuals for my vehicles but regularly the Clymer's and Haynes' are not correct. just a minor detail like plug gap can make a huge difference (beleive me i have learned). J&P i think sells them cheap. Not 100% sure they are HD manuals, but the picture in the catalog looks like the original manuals.
