If it was 10 years older I wouldn't be too worried about the mileage, but from what I've heard of the last 5 years or so of Harleys, don't know if I'd even want a new one. I wouldn't mind getting a 150,000 mile 98 FX series, if the price was great, pulling the engine/trans & going through them, end up with a quality machine I could really trust, more than a new one. But you gotta have some tools, skills, patience & time to do that, of course; I realize it isn't for everyone. Warranties don't impress me much, too easy for companies to weasel out of paying the way some are written; have had that happen.

I'd pass - recommend buying privately and spending money to get a vehicle report before pulling the trigger. Use searchtempest.com to query multiple craigslists at once.

Again it all depends on the price and what u can spend. If it were me I would spend more for a 2009 or newer for the frame upgrade.

Mine is an 09 Ultra with 53,000 miles and my warranty does not run out until 2016, I do long distance riding and I live in Arizona so I ride year around. I agree with one of the other posts that spoke about how the bike was taken care of, I do because I don't want to get stuck somewhere on my cross country rides. I intend to have lots of miles on my bike but it is well cared for and I know I might loose money on a trade in but I bought it to ride so if i ride it for 7 years and have 150,000 miles that means that I didn't have to pay the price every couple years for a new bike just to keep a low mileage bike. So I say buy it and enjoy it thats what you bought it for, If it's just for show then trade it in and keep those bike payments coming. Mine has been paid for since 2010 and it's all fun now.

I would not sell a good bike just because of high miles. But I would never buy one with that high mileage unless it was ALOT cheaper.

It all boils down to what you can afford. If you're planning on doing a lot of cross country riding and you can't afford to pay the maintenance costs of a catastrophic break down far from home, keep your money in your wallet. If you are staying close to home and if something happens you can get the bike back to the house where you can do the repairs as you can afford them, go for it.

Remember, if you can't afford to pay for it, you can't afford to ride it.

Pass on it brotha, way too many miles. lots of low mile bike deals out there. The dealer is the last place I'd buy a used bike.
