I read that the color fades and was wondering what that means - does it mean the black washes away and the natural yellow of the kevlar shows? I imagine this happening in a spotty pattern....is this right? or does the black just eventually turn to gray and lighten?

 

Nah. It goes charcoal grey.

 

Yep. A faded black in my case. Faded but still black, not quite gray.

Nothing close to the yellow. Washing in cold will help.

If I bought another I'd go one size larger though. Fits great everywhere but in the length.
