5 speed transmission light

As a trainee engineer I was taught that the only thing you can be sure of when a warning light comes on is that the bulb works!
So we know your neutral light works. I don't think it knows if you have oil in the trans or not and changing it won't help. Check the electrical connection on the neutral switch is clean and dry and making a good connection. If that doesn't fix it you may have a faulty switch. At least that is my guess!

So are we talking about the 6th gear light or the neutral light?
If you are talking about the 6th gear light then the clutch could be slipping. And if it is the 6th gear light you have noticed that it goes out when the clutch is pulled in haven't you?
This is normal as the 6th gear light is activated by the computer using info from the tachometer and speedometer. Also if you have a tuner on the bike (power commander) it can cause problem with the 6th gear light.
And the 5th gear whine can be helped by any number of different gear oils, Amsoil is one Redline is another and the list goes on.

There are 3 lights on the speedometer of the 03
Check engine = this is left of center
Pursuit = this is on the right top
Security = this is on the right bottom
Does your speedometer look like the one in the picture (this a white face one but the lights will be the same)
