Default lost throttle response

Out for a ride tonight on my 08 road king police, throttle quit responding, shut it off, started it up,ok for about a mile then did it again, I hit both signals to turn on hazards so I could creep home, hazards wouldn't come off so I pulled maxi fuse, now it won't act up again

Clean the contacts in the TBW plug behind air cleaner.

Give it a little time-keep riding it-it'll show up again.

Mine's had a bad throttle grip sensor, bad connector at the throttle body and a broken wire in the main wiring harness on the right side of the neck. I've had 6 or 7 failures.

It's always failed coming off idle or shifting from 1st to 2nd, which isn't too scary. I worry that I'll gas on it to pass or I'll be in one of the middle lanes on the freeway when it fails. That'll put me in a real bind. When it works, it's fine but it doesn't work better than cables, and it's a lot more prone to failure IMO.

I know most people aren't experiencing this and if you're not, count your lucky stars. This crap can get you killed.

HD knows about the "fretting" of the throttle body connector. There is a service bulletin on it. TT418-the fix dawg is referring to.

The service bulletin calls it the TCA. Throttle control actuator, I think. It's the plug behind the air cleaner.

I may pull my PCV and install xied in it's place just to eliminate possible bad wiring/connectors on the PVC. That's the only other thing that could cause this problem for me.

I don't know the color of the wire. I wiggled the bundle and found the area that caused the problem. I then took it to the dealer who cut out the bad section and spliced 4 new wires in. I think it's the wiring from the grip sensor.
