wow she looks awsome and ive read that you have to drill the holes bigger on the rear fender bolt hole to allow the fender to move up enough to not catch the tyre ?

if so how much by please ?

Had 21 on my '99 RG. In theory, less grip, slower handling, harder to stop. In reality Harleys are so bad at all that to begin with, it matters little.

Running a 21 x 3.25, I lowered the front to maintain the geometry. The ride is a little different, not better or worse just different. 100 miles later you want remember the stock rim. I went with a wrap around fender to show the maximum of the rim.

The difference between the 3 and 3.25 you can put a slightly wider tire on the 3.25.

Great looking wheels, Kentheworth! You'll find that the 21" is a little harder to handle at slow speeds than the factory wheel. I switch back and forth form the factory wheels to the ones you see in the picture, all the time. I can tell you the better ride is from the factory sized wheels. It's not that the 21" rides bad it's just not as good. I've achieved almost the same ride as in maneuverability with the 21" by lowering the front and lifting the back. I now have an 18" front to go with the wheels when I feel like a change.

I like it. You won't notice any difference after a few minutes. Drop the front 1".

After looking at SG Daves Avatar I almost forgot the subject.....Pros, looks a lot better and still handles good, the only con I have so far is that the tire wears out about 1.5k miles sooner according to my maint records.

could that be due to the rubber of the tyre being a softer compound compared to a Harley Dunlop Tyre ?

or do you think its just down to how much weight and load the tyre has to cope with under breaking etc ?
