Oil temp gauge just serves to drive you nuts it is a Big Vtwin it gets hot it don't care. use good oil and ride.

My bikes run around 20 degrees higher at high altitude (9,000 feet+) compared to sea level. I am sure it's the "thin air". SJ Ron

that's higher than I'm running under the same conditions and my 2011 Police Road King is completely stock. The hottest I've had was 259 after full throttle redline running for 15 minutes...
