If I could afford a second, it would be a Sportster '72. The 1200C is a sweet looking machine too, but almost too practical for a second bike. The 72 or the 48 would be my choices.

Go for it man, live the dream!

No, you are not nuts.
If I had the extra $ I would have a 1200-C in my garage right now. I love my King, but the Sportster is one great bike.

I looked at the 72 but the seat is really uncomfortable and the 2 gallon tank would be a bit of a pain. If I could find a reasonable priced 2003 anniversary edition and could add some mini apes and a few other mods, that would also be pretty cool. I keep going back and looking at the denim paint and it is starting to grow on me.

Default Glad I did it

I picked up an 05 1200C 60 days ago - it takes the load of my 04 FLHT.

Did the jets, gave her new air filter system and slip-ons - a blast. great ride to work. The price was right, lots of Sportster around.

If you take your time? 3 or 4 grand can buy a lot of bike, but you may have to wait until fall to get the best prices.

ride safe

I still miss all my old sporty's. Easy to ride, and quick little bikes!
Had a 79 Roadster XLS1000, still wish I had kept that bike.

I miss my old sporties. I put about 100 miles on my buddies 883 iron a few weeks ago and had a blast. They're just fun, basic, fast bikes. I plan to get another.
