Just out of interest, would you miss the sound quality and/or volume by not having any speakers to the front of the bike if you were on the go?

If your going 6/9 on top of the bags 2 6:9 is good enough . If you add 2 more on crash guard . Or lower fairing w/ speakers better , alpine pdx series , 4 channels 150x4 Or 100x4, f6 or f4 good luck

Can someone expand on this? You can run an iPod directly to the amp in the bags? I'm considering this for a road king project.

I'd like to do this mod to my softail with hardbags. Does anyone have 'dummy proof' instructions or a wiring diagram on how to run all of this? I'm not good with electrical but I'm mechanically inclined. Also, what amp and speakers would you recommend? I'm assuming boat/waterproof 6x9's. I'd also like to setup a speaker system on a crashbar. Thanks for any info!
