Dresser Duals W/Stock Mufflers
I have a 103, 2012 Roadking. Has anyone tried the Vance&Hines Dresser Duals with the stock mufflers. Trying to get rid of the heat on right side and get rid of the cat. converter at the same time. Anybody tried this and if you have do they sound good. Maybe this is not a good idea but I am on a budget. Thanks for any replies

I've heard it sounds pretty good from other members here... You can always remove the cat yourself and have someone reweld it. I was going to do that but then impulsed on DD's.
I would go with Mufflers first if your looking for sound. Headers are more for getting rid of heat and cat and sound/looks are a bonus. Unless heat is a primary concern. I put DD on and they do help significantly. Depending on who you talk to, you're going to need to remap it after a header change. Never a bad thing to do after. Don't need to do that with mufflers.

If your just looking for heat reduction and dont want to get into removing the cat yourself, check out American Customs. They will sell you a de-catted OEM Harley header pipe for $299, then send you back $100 when you send then your stock pipe. Net cost to you is $199 plus shipping your pipe, which is a helluva lot cheaper than the DDs your looking at. I came within inches of getting the V&H at Daytona, but fortunately I waited to think about it some more, then came across the American Customs booth. $199 plus tax, installed....no more cat.
On the other hand, if you are looking for performance gains and sound improvement, you need to do the back end as well. If you're going that far your going to need some kind of fuel management system and a heavy breather a/c.
Personally if it were me and its just the heat issue, I would take a look at American Customs. I'm quite happy with their product and you can't argue with the price.
