Default 2012 Street Glide Cruise Control issues

Looking for help...My check engine light came on while on a 1800 mile tour of AZ and my cruise control stopped working. The wonderful staff at Arrowhead Harley quickly got my bike into service and found that I had a air intake leak which was effecting my CC. They fixed this problem and everything seemed to work fine after that, well at least for 200 miles then the check engine light came back on. I pulled up the code (P0577) and ran a dropout function test. The test verified that one of my dropout switches was stuck closed, and from what I can gather it is probably my "Roll Off Throttle Switch", problem is, how do I unplug this to verify it's stuck? Does the 2012 SG even have a roll off throttle switch? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 2011 RKC.....engine light came on...cruise stopped....took in and they found the cruise control switch was bad....which inturn threw a code and triggered the check engine light.

They replaced the cruise switch, reset the check engine light and Ive been good for over a year.

Cruise may not be the problem when that engine light comes on it reduces power and shuts the cruise off What codes did they get the first time

I did change the grips out and I did not get a drop out code. As far as power goes...she runs as strong as ever.

What's up bro? Ever get a hold of the good folks up north to see what they'd do to help?

Are you starting to think it's not the SET/RES switch? The dropout switch isn't a physical switch, as I understand it to be. It's a logical switch, that when the brakes or clutch are applied, or the throttle is rolled forward, is triggered.

Hopefully someone here has a bit more info to add, and we can get this sucker fixed.

Any chance you can call Arrowhead to see what the code was the first time this happened, that led them to the air intake seal?

Hey bro, just trying to get as much info as I can to verify the problem. I have not called TM yet, but I will if I can verify the problem as a hardware issue instead of a wiring issue.

Hey Dyna,
The SG for some odd reason won't give me the drop out codes. The cruise enable lamp never comes on.

The procedures I used to gain the code were

Engine OFF, cruise switch OFF

Push cruise set/resume switch to SET and HOLD it there while switching to IGNITION (do NOT start engine)

RELEASE the set/resume switch and watch the cruise enabled lamp....it will flash out 3 digits encoded as a series of pulses in the following pattern >>> the first digit is string of 1/4 second flashes, then a one second pause; then the second digit is string of 1/4 second flashes, then a one second pause; then the third digit is string of 1/4 second flashes and it stops.....write down the number of flashes in each of the three segments and you will get a three digit code

So, when I hear that you're not getting a CC drop out code, I am starting to wonder if there is another issue that is causing the check engine light, and taking down the cruise, and not the other way around.

I would still be curious to see how Arrowhead diagnosed the air intake seal. Did a code point them in that direction, and if so, what was the code?
