They are worn and pitted...guess need to go ahead and replace them now also...My brother says stage two cams.....I don't sh...t about cams. I do mostly riding around 60 going to work,75 to 85 highway on trips to mountain on interstate. Don't do alot of traffic if at all possible. Looking at Crane cams.......any suggestion?

Woods TW6, or TW6G (gear drive).

Lots of midrange, good torque down low.

What oil do you use and how many miles before the tensioners were worn that much? Thanks - btw, I just installed a gear drive Andrews 26G - that might be worth looking in to since it's good for baggers and low end tprque on an otherwise stock engine.

I have almost 39000 mile in the bike. Have always used Harley syn oil and filter. All service workdone at the dealer, except this time. Thought about gear drive heard makes more noise?

A properly set up gear drive will make little noise provided your crank run out isn't too much. Most kits go right in with no difficulties or noise. I bolted mine right in and had no problems. It whines just a bit when she is cold and goes away when the engine gets up to operating temp.

At 39k, I'd be checking those tensioners. Some last. Some don't. Mine looked great at 52k. I have a buddy with an '02 whose were shot at 20k. Another friends were shot at 34k. It's a crapshoot. The brand of oil has nothing to do with how long they last, either......I use dino. The 34k guy uses synth....Go figure.

Another vote for the Woods TW6 or the Andrews 26G, the TW6 will be from 2000rpm to about 4500 rpm, great for Baggers. The Andrews will be a little higher on the low end, but also a good cam for Baggers

Thanks for all the feed back. Did not have camera with me when I went to look at the tensioners or the cams. Will try to get picture and post them. All ready have new tensioners, but now leaning more towards gear drive since cams need to be replaced, mainly cause I plan on keeping this ride for sometime and don't want to have to worry about the tensioners anymore.

The Woods TW5 might be an alternative as well.
Give Woods a call and advise them of the kind ofmotoring you do - they then can recomend. BTW, Andrews makes the Woods cams.
At this stage, go for the gear drive.
