I've been running my rig catless for a while now and would like to say it helps with the heat but honestly, I can't tell a difference.

Replaced the header pipes with a set of ceramic coated Fullsac X-pipe headers. Noticed a big drop in temp.

I noticed a drop in temp with my Rush ceramic coated duals. But the misses says it is hotter. Might just be because this was her first ride in 90 degree temps on the Ultra.

I'm currently in the market for a Road King and want to get one that is stock, kind of scares me to get a bike with modified pipes added and intake changed without knowing they compensated the fuel mix for those changes.
I bought a 2010 Ultra last year that already had Stage I and Rush slip-on mufflers. I bought a header pipe with the CAT removed. My HD dealer swapped head pipe. I was expecting them to reflash the ECM again. The service manager said it would not need it. I have rode it for a week now and it runs great in town stop and go and interstate too. PLUS THE HEAT IS GONE!

The service manager said if you open the air cleaner only, you can remove the CAT with out reflashing the ECM. If you put on after market slip-on mufflers only, you can remove CAT without reflash. If you do both you need to reflash no matter if you remove the CAT or not..

He said the CAT is NOT that restrictive but it is a heat genarator. Since my bike had already had the Stage I flash there was no need to reflash after removing the CAT.

I trust the people at my local dealer and they were right this time too. It is so nice not to have that 1200 degree CAT 2 inches from my right foot. Before I never used my bike to run errands around town because of the heat but now I do and enjoy it.

I still have my original head pipe just in case our out of control government decides to clamp down even more into our daily lives.

I have the same head pipes on my Screamin Eagle Street Glide and I noticed that the rear head pipe was hot on Sunday with all of the stop and go, slow traffic for Rolling Thunder. The oil temperature got up to around 260 on the digital oil stick and the engine did not show any issues, just the rear head pipe was hot.

Did you have someone in NOVA tune your bike? If so can you let me know who?

Catless is the way to go. Much, much cooler and I notice a slight power gain. No tuning or pinging issues.
