Help... Rockford pbr problem
Help me guys....I hooked up my Rockford pbr300x2 last night to new Polk mm651 speakers.... It's loud as hell but I have very little bass, almost like my stock speakers had more. I'm wondering if I got some wires crossed by some chance. What do you guys think could be causing this problem. I was very careful to keep the wiring straight, but I can't figure out why I have such little bass. Hope you guys can help. Btw, it's a 2010 streetglide. Thanks guys

Try checking the polarity of both inputs and outputs. Also try reversing only one side of the speaker's +/-. If you have it out of phase, the bass will cancel out.
One quick way to check if the speakers are out of phase is to lower your head directly in between both speakers, the music should sounds like it's coming from the center, if you hear music seemingly comes from the sides, your speakers are out of phase.
High pass is fine, as long as your crossover is set @ ~80Hz.

Ok, on the OEM, inputs to amp:
Left Front +: white/orange
Left Front -: lite green/white
Right Front +: grey/red
Right Front -: lite green/black
And on the Rockford amp:
Left Front +: white
Left Front -: white/black
Right Front +: grey
Right Front -: grey/black
I generally prefer to have the HP on, it "rolls off" the bass, but not totally cutting it off. By setting the HP on, it allows you to turn the radio volume higher without distortion.

Man thanks so much 3/4 life. I'm gonna work on it when I get home tonight. It can't be any laid out anymore simple than that. I have done lots of car stereos when I was younger, but cutting of RCAs and all that made me a little nervous. Let me ask you this too, you really sound like you know your stuff. What are your settings at on the amp? Gain, and crossover. Also where did you mount your crossovers for your speakers? Again, thanks so much man
