Got on the wifes 06 street bob today for the first time in like a year.
I've always thought it had akiller 6 speed and for some reason it feels so muchlighter and smoother shifting than the one on my 07 SG, who knows why?
But anyhow, I'm riding along and guess what I heard in 5th? You guessed it, whine...
Regardless, none of it really bothers me, just kinda wierd that nowwwww I hear it after owning it over a year. Go figure.

Tell ya what the 07 guys can bring the wine (they surley have more then they want) I'll bring the crackers someone else will have to bring the cheese because my wife gets mad at me when i cut the cheese and we will all have a big party!

 

You have tuned in to it. You are purposely looking for it. No offense, I see it all the time as an automotive tech. If a customer brings their vehicle in for a noise, you have two options, prove to them that it is the same as other cars, or fix it THE FIRST TIME! If you do not fix the problem on the first attempt, the problem will be 10 times worse (if only in their mind) the next time. I know for a fact that the tranny on my bike whines in 4th gear, as all the 5 speeds do. If I do not listen for it, I never hear it. If I try, I can hear it all the time.
