Question tire recommendation for 18" rear touring

I have an 08 SG with an 18" rim on rear. I am currently running avon venom 150/70/18 and while I am definitely a throttle jockey I feel that getting only 4500 miles out of it before completely slick is a little sad. I have searched on here for what you guys are running and I am seeing a lot of e3 and metzer talk. I have a 21" front and need the rear tire to hold in corners to comp for frnt wanting to walk a bit. Any suggestions and vendors will be greatly appreciated.

18" Pirelli Night Dragon's 150R/140F
120/21" = performance downgrade

Was getting 7500 to 8000 out of Metzeler 880 150/70 18. Currently trying a Pirelli Night Dragon but only have 2k on it. My 21/18 combo handles fine.

So you guys are running your 18" rears with 150/70 tires and no clearance issues? Ive heard some guys have some issues with the 150 on our pre 09 frames.

No issues on my 08. I will say the Pirelli is closer to the belt guard than the Metz were but still doesn't rub. All tires were 150/70 18's

You'll do a little better mileage-
wise with an Avon Cobra. Most tires in that size are V rated, an H rated tire (if you can find one) will give better wear and more load capacity.
