Default Fuel Moto Jackpot Head Pipe: What Exhaust Gaskets Should I Use?

2011 103" Street Glide.

Installed a Fuel Moto Jackpot head pipe last year and used new, stock HD gaskets. This is what Fuel Moto recommended when I bought the pipe. They didn't leak, no complaints.

Had to remove the Fuel Moto head pipe this year, and saw that the stock HD gaskets I used last year were crushed, and were obstructing the entire diameter of the end of the Fuel Moto pipe by ~15-20% (imagine what a clogged artery looks like).

I had two new HD stock exhaust gaskets ready to use, and noticed that they fit the end of the old, stock HD head pipe perfectly. However, they clearly did not mate very well with the end of the Fuel Moto head pipe.

It's obvious that the stock gaskets will work, but they definitely have to be crushed/distorted to get them to seal properly. Not crazy about the unavoidable obstruction they cause, either.

I called Fuel Moto and they said I could use Vance & Hines gaskets, as long as I doubled them up (2 gaskets, back-to-back, per each cylinder). They said that because they are so thin, they could potentially cause their head pipe to contact the cam case if only a single V&H gasket was used.

What gaskets have Folks successfully used with their Fuel Moto head pipes?

Thanks

I used stock HD gaskets on my 2012 103 with the fuel moto head pipe and it works fine.

Fuel Moto has always recommended the stock conical gaskets with their head pipe.

I used the stock gaskets on my old bike when I ran their header and no issue.

I am using the SE gaskets and I have no leaks... I followed the repair manual instructions.

OP didn't have leaks or issues either, but his complaint is that the stock gaskets are interfering with the free flow of exhaust gases by partially blocking the passages. There's got to be some power losses there.

I used the stock, new gaskets. Maybe on install you bumped the one enough to cause it to distort in the manner you indicated. I had mine off and the gaskets were crushed but fine.

I used the stock gaskets when I swapped my pipe. They were already pressed into the head, so I just left them on there and bolted my new jackpot pipe right up to them. Works great.

Stock gaskets tightened to 120 inch lbs works great for me. The obstruction happens when you over tighten.
