Help me if you can

Sorry, seems like it would be a whole lot easier to check the fuse than pull the fairing. On the bright side - at least you'll know how to get the fairing off next time!

I apologize up front for being abrasive but I'm a little shocked. I hope that the OP checked the fuse before asking for help. If not, he might want to read his owner's manual (not to mention keep it on the bike) and have the salesman who sold him the bike give him another walkaround description of it's features (i.e. fusebox location).
I have a hard time believing that someone who has the resources and desire to buy a 2012 UC doesn't know to check a fuse. Everyone with a driver's license should know this. Electrical troubleshooting 101: If an electrical component stops working, check the fuse. If the fuse blows a 2nd time, find the fault or pay someone to find it for you.

If you are using it to actually light cigarettes, I found that mine would push in and then simply pop out immediately without getting hot. Try pushing in the lighter and holding it there for 5-10 seconds. That's how mine works now until I actually replace the female part of the lighter. If it's not getting hot after holding it in then either a fuse or a wire off.

You are quite abrasive !! I'm an electrician, so i think I know how to check fuses. I wanted to fix the problem last night, in the dark, so I could hook up my GPS this morning. I've had the fairing off of my last 10 FL's several time. Anyway thanks to the bubs who really wanted to help. pulled the cover off the fuse box and went right to the problem, and found the burnt fuse. Thanks again for your help.

That's ok. Just don't do it again... Seriously if a fellow rider can't come on this board and ask for help in a pinch without getting **** then there's a problem. Sure it was a simple fix but sometimes when you're under pressure the simple stuff evades you.

true dat!! been there dun it. and will do it again.

+1, after 39 years on HD I had many years of not being very tolerant of the "new" riders, the ones who started coming on after "84 and especially the "new" crowd of late. I couldn't believe how some of these guys had no clue about anything, except they wanted to have a Harley. I've adjusted and grown patient (well, sometimes I have a relapse) and understand things change. Hey, on the bright side, they've kept the MOCO in business and the market is saturated with low mileage bikes, so it's good for everyone ...... plus, maybe they don't know much about their bike, but a lot of them seem willing to learn and the new riders maybe can teach me some stuff, like finance, legal advice, etc.
