103 overheating

I'm not, but did try to interject some humor on the shifter note. But, I could go either way on the troll thing. He did mention he had a shovel, a lot of the trolls wouldn't have even known that word, much less add a date to it. However, "in shop more than garage", "unable to fix due to red tape from factory", "dealer said need to change air and pipes with new tuner" (maybe!), "called factory and of course the hd run a round" (doubt it), "HD wants way to get out of warranty". So, I'll just sit back, wait and see, it just don't sound right .........

It is my understanding that one should use the HD Dino oil 'til, a minimum, of the 1000 mile change to allow the engine to settle in.
I made sure I gave the HD factory oil a chance to do it's work before I put in Amsoil synthetic.
I did confirm that there was oil in the engine and tranny. It can be an item missed during assembly.
I would just ride it and make sure you maintain it as per factory recommendations. Keep excellant records in the event that you do end up with a problem. If you do have a problem... It is under warranty.
Otherwise, just enjoy it.

I have heard stories about dry engines and trans slipping through the inspection process but dont know if they are ever really true, simple check to be sure you have oil.
I agree ride it, you documented the problem now ride it. If it blows it will be covered under warranty. The bike should run correctly stock and not require any mods to perform per spec and reliability get you from point A to B.

The bike should run perfectly in stock form. If it does not, there is something wrong with the bike. You paid good money, demand that you get what you paid for.
I bought my SG at the first leg of a 5-day ride (fell in love with it at a dealer and traded in the FB I was riding), and it gave me no problems during this trip. Now, many miles later, the bike runs great with no problems. Of course, it is not stock any more...

I did change out the oil & filter the very next day fearing that the Syn-3 got completely cooked in that traffic jam, & was no longer protecting well. I ended up using the Spectro-Platinum Full Syn 20W-50 & noticed that the engine runs much smoother & cooler now, & no its not my imagination either!.......

You have a brand new bike and it's trying to grenade itself. I don't know if I would even want it anymore. With all those issues who knows if at some point down the road a bigger problem doesn't rear it's ugly head.
I would buy the longest possible warantee I could get from the MOCO. Keep it basically stock so the warantee isn't affected, and ride er til she blows.
You musta bought the Friday bike.
Bikes built on Fridays seem to have issues. Hehehe
