Is new tape recommended for Road King windshield replacement?
I'm replacing my FLHR's stock shield with one I bought from LRS, and I have some questions about the tape used to stick the brackets to the windshield.
Those of you that have replaced your FLHR shield, did the tape come off intact attached to the brackets or did the tape tear with some staying on the brackets and some staying behind on the stock shield?
Is it important to have tape along the entire length of the brackets or is it ok to have it only in some spots along the brackets? (in case it tears when removing)
Should I just bite the bullet and buy new double-sided tape for the mounting brackets before I start and be done with it?

You can re-use or not. You don't need it for anything...Harley uses it during manufacturing so they can line things up when installing the windshield! : ) won't hurt to reuse it or not have it there at all, promise!
