Default DNA Mammoth 52 spoke wheels

Folks,

I want to here from folks with DNA Mammoth spoke wheels that have recently purchased these wheels. Im getting mixed reviews from the searches Ive done on the forum, where some say bad and some say no problems at all, but most are 2 year old posts. I need some 2012 feedback. I like these wheels and for the cost its very tempting but I need to know if they have fixed the quality issues they had years ago.

I just put a set on my '02 RK. I have them mounted and on the bike but haven't ridden it yet. Just got the other stuff done up Sunday. I was pleased with the wheels so far, chrome seemed good, and look great on the bike. I got a 18x4.25 for the rear and a 21x3 for the front. My biggest complaint is it took over a month to get them. Any questions ask away.

Who did you order your wheels from? Did you have to use a spacer for the rear wheel since its 4.25?

Been running them for 2 years, they are heavy and work great for me, running 18/5.5 rear and 21/3.5 front.

Same question for you...did you have to add a spacer to use a rear wheel that wide.

Yes I had to use a 3/8 spacer on the pulley to get the belt to clear my Avon Venom. Also had to spread the swing arm a little and add a 3/8 spacer on the axle on the left side so the tire would center up on the fender. Originally my tire was offset to the left a little, maybe a 1/4 or so, now it's very close to centered.

Sorry I ordered the wheels from KC International, seems problem was shortage of spokes at DNA.

So to avoid spacers and all those adjustments, if I go 18x3.5 on the rear I won't have to make any changes since my stock setup is for 3.5?

Saw a Ride Wright 21" with rotors and rubber for $400 recently.

The rim was not what made the spacer required. My 150/18 Avon Venom is wider than the rim, nearly 6in. The belt wouldn't clear the tire and is pretty close now. I think all is good but like I said haven't gone for a shake down run yet.
