Default How to remove fork lock cover/tach holder

Installing Boom Audio Cruiser amp kit and it seems like wires should go under the cover for the tach attatchment/fork lock. Anyone know how to remove it without too much trouble? Thanks in advance

on my 05 the round fork lock/unlock pops up & off, just use a small flat head screw driver and there is 2 screws under there.

hope that helps

Where do you place the flat head screw driver to do this?

Thanks Colin. On the front side of the cover is a silver chrome piece that runs to the front of the headlight, it's attached to the cover, preventing removal. Is there a trick to getting that off as well?

no problem,

you have to remove the headlight and there is a nut that holds the arrow.

Got it, found a thread here for something else that referenced that. No wonder Harley shops get good money for working on bikes. I got cables and such routed as good as I could without having any experience or having thought through all the steps. Left the wires under the seat un-spliced...bike goes in for 15,000 mile service next Wednesday and I'll let them have at it. Thanks again Colin.
