You'll be doing good if you get 1k off sticker. Every once in a while someone on these forums finds a really good deal, but the vast majority search high and low and end up paying retail even after an exhaustive search. I bought my Sporty in '92 and it was the same back then, you paid retail or you walked away, those were your two options (and back then you had to wait 4 to 6 months after ordering your bike). If paying that kind of money really gives you heartburn and you're paying cash anyway, you should consider buying a used one. Most owners take meticulous care of their Harleys and keep them garaged and covered. Unlike many other makes, it's VERY easy finding an immaculate showroom condition used Harley. That's what I did, I was faced with either buying a new one and financing part of it or buying a used one, paying cash and owning it outright. I did the latter and had a nice cushion left over to spend on mods

Try an asking price of $34,500 ride away in Australia for a 12 FLHX with the 103 kit. Absolute rip off...The road glide is cheaper at $32K as its a new model over here. The dollars are similar in value as well. The $12K difference covers a not a lot of freight and not a lot of goodwill by the riders over here.

Bike season is in full swing and it's going to be difficult to get a huge discount. When I bought my 2012 SG with abs/cruise/alarm and during the negotiation, I was able to see the computer monitor and noticed that the price of $17,999 was on the screen. What did the $17,999 mean? It could of been what the dealer paid.

Good luck on your purchase.

I paid $22500 out the door with tax, title, everything for my road glide ultra. The road glide custom and street glides setting next to it would have cost me $120 more out the door since they do not discount those.

not. basic economics here. if the demand for the product is high, supply is limited, price is high.

He dropped 1k off a 2012 black denim cruise, no security no abs. From what I heard that's as good as you'll every get.

i have said it plenty of times before and i will say it again...NEVER buy during riding season. You will get ripped every single time no matter where you live, what bike you want, what color, doesnt matter, you will get ripped. I bought my 2012 RGC in the sig pic on December 23, 2011 which just so happen to be the last day of the year for the dealership to be open. I paid $21,688 out the door, taxes, tag, 5 year warranty, abs, cruise, security, and 20% off parts and accessories that I have yet to use yet because im away from home working. The sales guy told me that EVERYTHING in the store remaining at the end of the year was gonna get taxed in the new year so they were trying to move as much as possible. Had I bought that bike right now i'd be looking at $25k out the door easy. Be patient and wait until the last business day of the year for the dealership. You live in Arizona so your riding season is like mine here in GA...it's about 9-10 months out of the year you get to ride. You aint missing much right now that you cant see next year. The only thing that changes are the faces in the game, thats it. Good luck.
