Default 2008 FLHTP Cruise Control Conversion

I read a thread about adding cruise control to a FLHTP here. I took the "easy" road?? I bought a new FLHT Interconnect Harness, right-hand Cruise Control, new left hand control with the horn, Hi-Low and blinker control only and I added the 4 console rocker switches. I don"t care about a radio. I have everything working except the Head light and Driving lights. The only difference I see between the interconnects is that the SPDT switch doesn't operate, no driving lights and the headlight isn't working. I see the FLHTP interconnect harness had the O/W (HDI Only) wire connected somewhere. The FLHT Wire has a red plastic cap over it. I'd really appreciate any advice.
Thanks
J

It came standard on my 2010 FLHTP. It is the mechaical kind with thumb wheel below throttle grip. Push bottom w thumb locks throttle and pull back from above index finger releases cruise. Pretty sure your year had it.

Thanks, I replaced those right hand controls with new that included an electronic cruise. I'm juat having trouble figuring why I have no voltage to the headlight and passing lamps.

I did the same thing with my 2009 including the radio. Did your bike have the police stealth switch? It is part of the main harness and needs to be plugged in or a jumper installed in its place for the lights to work. Also, for the cruise control to work, you need to make sure all the wires from the controls to the ecm are present in the main harness - I had to add 3 wires. You may also need the dealer to program the ecm that the bike now has cruise. If you have a manual and the police supplement you can see the wires that may be missing.

I am in the process of doing this to my 2009 FLHTP. Also I'm trying to figure out the ABS hookup. Any help would be appreciated
