I went from a 06 EG to a 12 RGC. It is all in the choice of windshield for the the riders. I started off with a ceebailey step shield and it was bad a$$ looking and worked great for keeping the wind off the rider, however it dumped the wind right on the passenger. I changed it out with a windvest that is a completely different style shield and it solved all the problems. If his wife isn't riding on the RG then she isn't doing it simply because she doesn't like the bike, not the wind. My wife says with the new windshield there is hardly a difference.

I am 6'2" and have the appropriate recurve from clearview. My wife does not like the roadglide near as well as the ultra. She talks of the wind and turbulence on the road glide. I like the road glide better than the ultra. My wife seldom rides and I'm okay with that.

Hey, just pay the $1 and ride across the bridge to Iowa where helmets are optional

MadStad shield. Unbelievable difference with this thing installed. The knock is that it's ugly. 'Course the knock on the Road Glide is...

It's adjustable so you can change it's position instead of buying multiple shields, unless you collect windshields. Bottom line. It works and works well.

You can buy a bunch of different shields and experiment, or you can buy a Madstad and be done.

RG and RGU need a windshield this is my third RG I tried others the stock height works best. Those fancy named bad this and that stuff may look cool but that is about it. Most dealers offer a Demo program try a few other pout with out spending cash. for me I learned my lesson.

The stock windshield on my RGU works fine for both my wife and myself. She has no complaints about passenger buffetting.

My passenger doesn't ever complain that it beats her to death and I have a 12" WindSplitter

"So does anybody have the same problem , and if so how did you fix it ???"

Easiest possible solution there is:
Buy a full-height windshield.

cause the roadglide custom, the one with the 'sg trim piece' is not really a touring bike. sure it's built on the touring platform, but just like the street gide, its a lot more about looks than function. thats why it has the toenail windshield, and crappy rear suspension.

take a roadglide custom, add a new windshield, new seat, and better shocks and you have a world class tourer.

the road glide ultra, on the other hand, does come with a proper windscreen and the touring shocks.

If I were you, I'd take a test ride on the Road Glide Ultra with the stock shield and maybe one or more of the Windsplitter shields and see what you think. Bring your passenger along of course.
It's probably just about the only way you're going to know for yourself whether it's the ride for you.
new? the 12'' windsplitter is the first thing i bought for my bike when i bought it 2 years ago. i also have the 15'' version, that i bought for winter time. they work good for me, but i'm short. most taller folks don't care for them.
