Question Inner Fairing and I'm mistaken?

I stopped by to see how far the bike FLHTCK is and if I can take it home this weekend...

They said well the painted inner fairing is on, "sweet", "I need to see this". As I approached the bike I noticed in my opinion something was wrong, see the bike is Ember Red Glo and Merlow with the Merlow the lower color.

So they ordered a Merlow Inner and installed it...I was under the opinion or should I say it was unspoken by sales and I that the top color gets the inner fairing color. I'm not sure what I'm thinking now.

What is your opinion?

Maybe the conversation should have been more detailed when ordering, if you said "red" then it is their job to know the part number for "red" rather than "merlot"- or someone was lazy ordering the parts and they are hoping you don't mind.

but living where the sun does glare, i'd rather Merlot than Red shining in my face all day.

I often have enough trouble riding with the glare from my filler cap and often ride with it open.

For that paint scheme I would expect it to match the top of the tank.

Colour looks good to me. However, to each they're own. If its not what you want nows the time to make the decision. Once you own it, you own it.

The majority of the front fairing looks like the Merlot. It will be fine, but it is your choice. You could always add some of the red to it. Good luck & let us know what you decide.

There's no convention on this - you order what ever you want. I have Upper Blue, Lower Black FLHTK with Vivid black inner. Looks great. Honestly - I kinda like the darker color for the inner.

I think the Merlot would be my choice. The top color on my bike is Flame Blue, but I'd love to have a Pewter inner fairing.

If it were me I'd paint the inner in two-tone and align it with the two-tone on the outer. There was a thread recently where someone did this and it looked fantastic.
